Subscribe in Apple Podcast I Spotify I YouTube Podcast
What if menstrual education wasn’t clinical, confusing, or shame-filled… but instead sacred, empowering, and rooted in deep ancestral wisdom?
In this powerful conversation, I’m joined by Apollonia Gallegos, founder of Mi Hita, a movement and platform dedicated to reclaiming the wisdom of the XX chromosomes and celebrating the female journey. Apollonia brings her deep background in education, doula work, fertility awareness, and yoga to the table as we explore how to bridge modern hormonal health with the ancient practices that once honoured every stage of womanhood.
We talk about:
Why ancestral knowledge is the missing piece in modern women's health
How menstrual cycles can (and should) influence our work, rest, and relationships
Cultural healing, new models of care, and how to bring boys and men into this conversation
How we can create new traditions that celebrate and support girls from their first bleed
Whether you're a cycle geek, a mama, an educator, or just hormone-curious—this one will move you.
About Apollonia Gallegos:
Apollonia Gallegos is the creator of Mi Hita. She is a passionate education and women’s rights advocate. She holds a masters degree in education, is a trained doula, trained fertility awareness educator, and trained yoga instructor. She has a background in teaching, program design, experience curation, social justice, birth work, sex education, yoga, art, photography, girls education, and women’s health. Through her own journey she recognized societies gap in knowledge and understanding about the female cycle, creating a lack of support and celebration for what makes women, women. She created Mi Hita to close this gap, focusing on honoring the female cycle and embracing the strength of the XX chromosomes. Mi Hita has been designed to reshape mindsets, educate, guide, share knowledge, connect to resources, and ultimately create new traditions that honor & embrace the female journey.
